People booking holidays to Florida this autumn will be just in time to experience the latest offering at Walt Disney World Resort, after the General Motors (GM) Test Track ride is transformed into the all-new Chevrolet Design Centre. GM and Disney this year renewed their long-running partnership, which promises to bring exciting new attractions for fans of motoring design for years to come.
The Test Track is currently one of the major attractions at Epcot, the area of Walt Disney World Resort dedicated to the greatest in human achievement that also includes the iconic Spaceship Earth and Universe of Energy. When it reopens as the Chevrolet Design Centre, visitors will be transported on a multimedia journey through the history of GM’s automobiles, from concept cars to well-known classics.
Guests will even get the chance to make their own custom concept vehicles at the attraction’s design and styling workstations, before taking to the Test Track circuit to put their creations through their paces in a virtual environment. After a round of performance testing, visitors will be able to see how their concept vehicle measured up, as well as witnessing the future of Chevrolet automobiles in an all-new showroom.
“The best of Disney and the best of Chevrolet will come together to bring guests an immersive experience in the design process of the vehicles they see on the road today and will see in the future,” said Joel Ewanick, global chief marketing officer at General Motors.
All this makes Walt Disney World Resort the perfect place to book Florida package holidays in autumn and winter 2012. Whether you’ve got a petrolhead in your family or just want to see the very latest in design and technology on display, Epcot’s Future World has dozens of attractions focusing on everything from space travel to ecology – and that’s just one part of a fantastic resort that could take months, never mind weeks, to explore.
“People come to Florida looking for an experience they can take home with them, and the forthcoming Chevrolet Design Centre looks set to add to the many amazing journeys visitors can take at Walt Disney World Resort,” said a spokesperson for Florida holidays specialist Florida4Less. “Epcot has always offered fantastic ways to make science and technology exciting as well as educational for all the family – with so many new attractions in the pipeline, there has never been a better time to take your first trip to Disney World.”
Holidaymakers planning a visit the world-famous resort in the future can also look forward to the major $425 million (£350 million) expansion of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom, including several new rollercoasters based on much-loved characters like Goofy and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
