Easter is a super exciting time at Walt Disney World, with spring in the air and a collection of themed events taking place across the entire resort. There’s always an incredible range of attractions going on all year round, but children will especially adore visiting at this time of year!
Meet Mr and Mrs Easter Bunny
A character meet and greet you simply can’t miss, you’ll find Mr and Mrs Easter Bunny in various places across the park. They’ve been known to wander around the resort, so it’s best to check with a member of staff when you visit to find out where they’ll be at certain times during the day. A great place to check is the Magic Kingdom, by the Town Hall.
Not only can you take a picture with the bunnies, you might even receive a special delicious gift too!
An egg-citing event for all Disney fans, Epcot is hosting its annual Egg-stravaganza once again! The event starts at the beginning of March, right up until May 29th. One of the most anticipated events is the Easter egg hunt, where special Disney-themed eggs are hidden across Epcot.
To take part, all you have to do is buy the special map and stickers which you’ll use to keep track of your findings! Place the right character-themed sticker next to the correct area and then, once your map is complete, return it to pick up your prize.
Enjoy the International Flower and Garden Festival
Overlapping the Egg-stravaganza is Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival. From March 1st until May 29th, you can celebrate spring by exploring the Park’s vibrant gardens and interesting exhibits. Discover over 70 Disney-themed topiaries and enjoy delicious snacks and drinks from the collection of outdoor kitchens.
There’s even a fantastic outdoor concert to enjoy. All ages will love listening to the many bands that are scheduled to appear as part of the 2017 Garden Rocks series. Acts include the Plain White T’s, Gin Blossoms and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas!
New for 2017
If this isn’t your first time to Disney you might notice some special new attractions when you visit over Easter in 2017. It’s great news if you’re a Star Wars fan visiting this April, as many themed activities are taking place. On the evening, don’t miss Star Wars: Galactic Nights at Hollywood Studios. You can come in fancy dress and enjoy a night time show that lights up the sky with music, pyrotechnics and so much more!
You’ll also be one of the first to try the brand new Miss Adventure Falls ride in Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Perfect for cooling down, this speedy water ride will be loved by children and adults of all ages.
