Dog Friendly Florida

Thinking about taking a trip – but wouldn’t dream of coming without your canine companion? You’re in luck! Florida cherishes their furry friends, and offer plenty of dog-friendly places and activities you and your pup can enjoy together.

Where to play

Kick start your day with some fun in the sun, for you and your four-legged friend!

Barber Dog Park

If you and your pup have a lot of energy to burn, take a trip to the Barber Dog Park. This fenced off area welcomes owners to let their dogs off-lead and has a range of agility equipment to really get active with. There’s a separate area for smaller dogs, too.

Fort De Soto State Park

Or, more specifically, the dog beach and Paw Playground at the Fort De Soto State Park. The coast is lined with soft sand, ready for your pooch to jump off-lead and take a run across the beach or jump straight into the tranquil sea! There’s also a pooch park area, drinking fountains, waste bags and dog showers – so you can all stroll home squeaky clean.

Lazy Dog Kayak

Feeling adventurous? You and your pooch can go rent your very own kayak, and take to the waters of Key West. If you’ve got a bit of experience under your belt, then you can roam alone – or you and your pooch can tag along on a guided kayak tour.

Where to eat

All this play has worked up and appetite – but where to for you and Fido?

Mad Dogs & Englishmen

This English style pub provides a home away from home for many – including your pup! Dogs are welcome here, and great grub is served – think English classics like fish and chips, bangers and mash, and shepherd's pie. A pint or two won’t go amiss either!

Dexter's of Thornton Park

This fun, laid-back restaurant has a super chilled vibe, and always welcomes a pampered pooch. Perfect for lunch or a dressed-down evening meal, you can expect some great dishes, drinks, and even unique artwork - all at great value.

Coconuts Bahamas Grill

In the mood for some fresh seafood, or some comforting grilled chicken? Serving everything from crab cake and salad to lobster rolls, this grill offers delicious grub all day long – and their casual, outdoor seating area welcomes your pup.

Where to walk

Once you’re all full up after your dog-friendly dinner, we’ve found the perfect spots to walk it all off.

Dinosaur World

This park really provides something a little different – and welcomes pups along too! Take an educational trip through exhibits of life-size dinosaurs, Fossil digs, and Boneyards while your pooch comes along too. Dogs are welcome both indoors and outdoors on a lead.

Dog Wood Park

This 25-acre space is a haven for dogs of all sizes, and specifically caters to your canine friend. The pond, knoll and luscious green trails are all fenced off, so owners are encouraged to let their paw-fect pals gallop around off-leash.

Canova Dog Beach

This 9.1-acre beach welcomes dogs of all ages and sizes, and is the perfect location for a nice, relaxing stroll. With idyllic ocean views for you both to enjoy, and showers, drinking fountains and picnic areas, the Canova Dog Beach has everything you need for a walk in the sunshine.
